NASA has recently published a new Delay & Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) web page. This page provides a great overview of DTN: what problems it solves in space communications, a high-level explanation of how it works, and a short summary of the benefits it delivers for space missions.
The page also has links to: 1) NASA resources for space mission development using DTN; 2) a page describing the future of DTN—standardization work in progress with CCSDS and IETF as well as future planned space missions that will use DTN and 3) a very nice newest-to-oldest list of DTN historical milestones.
