The InterPlanetary Networking Special Interest Group (IPNSIG) seeks to promote effective data communications over interplanetary distances. Communicating over those vast distances and in the challenging (for data communications) environment of space requires a really different approach to networking than that ubiquitous networking environment we are most used to: the internet.
